TheVentures and Citypreneurs announced the top 10 winners of the 2021 Impact Collective Accelerator Program. The winning startups, selected through a community voting process on the program’s blockchain-powered platform, will receive a total of $500K investment from the Impact Collective fund.

Top 10 teams with the most from Impact Collective Community

After a 10-week virtual acceleration, the top 10 teams of Impact Collective 2021 have been announced. Impact Collective is a community-driven global accelerator for startups working on creating impact in Asia-Pacific under the UN SDGs. The top 10 teams will receive a total of USD 500K from the Impact Collective fund to scale up their ground-breaking solutions and accelerate the SDGs in the region.

The 2021 program was launched earlier in August and had received over 400 entries from 39 countries. The entries were evaluated by the Impact Collective Committee on several parameters, including business model, product/service, impact strategy, and founding team credentials.

After the rigorous assessment, 45 innovative startups from 13 countries were selected and the teams took part in a highly-curated 10-week virtual program in which they:

  • Received mentoring from 70+ industry experts
  • Participated in workshops on impact-profit alignment
  • Engaged in Ecosystem Mapping Dialogue hosted by Citypreneur
  • Joined fireside chat series with world-class leaders
  • Gained access to 1,700+ Impact Collective’s community.

At the end of the program, a Demo Day took place on November 8–10 and the 45 teams presented their final pitch to a group of investors, seasoned entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders, policymakers, and Community Voters from the Impact Collective Community. An audience of over 300 people joined the finale of the program to show support and asked questions to conduct due diligence.

Impact Collective’s Virtual Demo Day

After the Demo Day, voting for the final team was held on the program’s blockchain-powered platform from November 11 to 12. A total of more than 240 community members, including Community Voters, industry experts, and an investment committee, participated in the voting process, and the 10 teams with the most votes were selected as the winners. The top 10 companies with the most votes are:

“I would like to thank the amazing mentors, whose lives were inspirations themselves, for showing continuous support throughout the acceleration period. The valuable suggestions and feedback from the experts helped our team to a great extent. We also met other Impact Makers from the region and built meaningful relationships where we sincerely supported each other and gave critical advice. Our team looks forward to developing these relationships further to create a meaningful impact together,” said Tahmid Zaman, Co-founder, and CEO of Onnow.

“In our first cohort last year, we invested in eight startups including a telehealth startup from Pakistan and a mobility startup from Bangladesh, the first-ever Korean VC in the region. This year, we had teams from not only Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, and Thailand, where the startup ecosystem is mature, but also had promising teams from fast-growing Southeast Asian countries, such as the Philippines, Cambodia, and Bangladesh. The diversity of the teams was possible thanks to Impact Collective’s amazing community from all over Asia-Pacific and we are delighted that we’ve discovered these startups with great business potential and impact-driven solutions,” said Changseong Ho, Co-founder of TheVentures.

Impact Collective wishes to congratulate all the impact makers who participated in this year’s program on their achievement and specifically the TOP 10 teams who received the most votes from the 1,700+ Impact Collective Community.

We also look forward to meeting promising fellow entrepreneurs who are putting tremendous effort into creating innovative solutions to solve the most pressing problems in the world.

We would like to sincerely thank our Partners and 120+ teams from our first and second cohorts who share our vision of a more sustainable future and took part in building a robust collaborative ecosystem together. Your full attention and ongoing support would be greatly appreciated as this is only the beginning of our journey and we will continue our endeavors in 2022 and beyond! So, please stay tuned! 🙌🙌🙌
